Today I am so excited to be sharing a collaboration I have been working on with DownEast. This DIY Tutorial will not only be showcased here on my blog, but in their stores and on their website as well!
I absolutely love s’mores. They bring me back to when I was a little kid and my family would make them on Christmas Eve before watching A Christmas Story or to when I was a teenager and we would go camping in our trailer.
Today, with a little help from DownEast, I want to share with you my tips and tricks for a quick and super cute DIY s’mores bar! There are a lot of big, beautiful s’mores stands and bars up on Pinterest and around the internet, but I wanted to put one together that was a little smaller- perfect for entertaining in a small space like our apartment.
What You’ll Need:
- 1 small table or Bar Cart
- 1 mini fire pit (I bought one from this brand)
- 3 regular sized bowls
- 1 bag of jumbo marshmallows
- Hershey’s chocolate bars (I used 1 bag of the fun-size chocolate bars)
- Skewers (not pictured but available here)
- S’MORES STATION sign
- Printable labels for the graham crackers, marshmallows, & chocolate
Optional Décor I Used:
- Old-fashioned lantern
- 1 strand of twinkle lights (for inside the lantern)
- 1 strand of light up clothespins (see here and here)
- Cake stand for firepit
This was a super quick and easy project that took me a trip to Target and maybe 10-15 minutes to set up, but I love the way it turned out.
To achieve this super fun s’mores bar look all I did was set up a table outside on our balcony and set the S’MORES STATION sign on the ground below it. Then I took a cake stand so that the firepit was elevated and more easily accessible. If you can’t find a firepit in a store near you, there are tons of ways to DIY on Pinterest!
I set out the marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers in these simple but really nice looking bowls, then I ran the strand of light up clothespins along the backside. The table I was using had a drawer which made for a great way to easily conceal the battery pack, but you could always tuck it behind something or tape it underneath the table if needed- we’re creative here, y’all.
The clothespins made it easy for me to clip on little printable labels for the graham crackers, marshmallows, and the chocolate bars which I think add a cute touch, great for entertaining. I loved that I was able to find a strand of lights that worked, but if not you could totally use regular clothes pins and string them on a line of twine to achieve an equally cute look!
While this was fine, I wanted to add a little more flare to my table because we were celebrating my birthday! I picked up some balloons in some of my favorite colors and stuck them behind the table. Then I added some fresh flowers and a lantern that we had from our wedding. I put some cute twinkle lights in the lantern so that it would add some more light to the table at night.
I love the way my DIY s’mores station turned out and think it was perfect for our little apartment balcony. It was so fun and quick to put together, too! Keep an eye out for this in DownEast’s Home stores. They’ll be sharing more later next week!
