I slept with Easton in my bed almost the entire first year of his life. I tried various co-sleepers, but he never slept well in them and they were all a waste of money. The only thing he slept in other than my bed was his swing or his car seat if we were in the car. It took weeks to get him to transition to his crib when he finally stopped sleeping in my bed around the time he turned one.
With Lincoln I wanted more options. We don’t have tons of extra space in our apartment and Jake is a very active sleeper, so complete bed-sharing wasn’t an option to me. I wanted to keep our little guy safe, but also ensure he’d sleep.
The DockATot seemed like an interesting product to me because of the design. The DockATot is a lounger and co-sleeper that’s handmade in Europe, and was designed in Sweden. DockATot is also 100% cotton, all-natural and completely breathable. The design has been safety tested and is OEKO-TEX certified, plus it’s the perfect micro-climate for babies and tots as it’s designed not to get too hot so little ones don’t get excessively warm or sweaty. My big seller was that it looked like a baby pillow, but was said to be entirely breathable without getting too warm. Plus, so many people on Instagram are obsessed with it! I just had to try it.
On the other hand, I’ll admit, upon getting our DockATot I was a little skeptical about it, too. It seemed kind of like an Instagram fad that was more trendy than practical. What could this baby pillow possibly do that other co-sleepers couldn’t do?
Well, we’ve only had Lincoln at home for two full weeks and I’m 100% sold on our DockATot Deluxe. When we’re not holding him, Lincoln sleeps in it almost exclusively. It’s soft and snug, so he still gets that enclosed feeling that babies like. It’s also really light and portable so I can use it on the floor, on the couch, or in our bed. And it’s not bulky so it doesn’t take up tons of unnecessary space. I’m not kidding when I say that if I had to pick one sleeper for Lincoln, I would choose this one.
Even Jake has noticed how easy it makes things. I’m being 100% serious when Isay that yesterday he called it the best thing ever. While this is definitely a pricier baby item, I would recommend it to anyone who was having a baby. It’s been a serious game-changer.
